Referral codes, explained plainly

Almost every mobile gaming app used in India asks for a referral code when you register. This page explains what that code is, in ordinary language, and what it does not do.

What the code actually is

A referral code is an identifier belonging to whoever introduced you to the app. When you enter it, the operator records that connection. That is the whole mechanism. It is bookkeeping, not a setting on your account.

Three things it does not do

It does not change the odds of any game. It does not alter the terms you agree to. And it does not give the referrer any access to your account, your balance, or your personal details - they cannot see or do anything on your behalf.

When to be careful

Be wary of anyone who asks for payment in exchange for a code, or who promises a guaranteed return for using theirs. Codes are free by design. A promise of guaranteed winnings is a warning sign, not an offer.
